Hallicrafters S-85
Hallicrafters S-85 Receiver Restore
I purchased this Hallicrafters S-85 at a club auction
about 3 years ago. I am finally getting around to put the old boy back in
working order.
It was not one of the high-end receivers of the day but sold for around
$120.00 at the time which of course was a lot of money in the mid-1950's.
Sears also sold it for 119.00.

Out of the case. Looking over what work is ahead of me on this
receiver. It has been a long time since I have undertaken a project
like this but I am really looking forward to it.

that turned out to be. Took me two tries on the band spread dial but
finally got it done. |
